Absurdist humor. Dynamic alternative rock, sometimes with cinematic themes. Recovery of spirit, riffs and synths.
GROUCHO is a sometimes touring but always creating alt/psychedelic rock project founded by Dustin Edward Howard, who began releasing a collection of music under the name in 2016 with friends before taking a break to reframe musical direction of the idea, forming the full band in 2020. Musically dynamic and thematically fearless, GROUCHO pairs absurdist humor, recovery, and a spiritual framework with dark, cinematic themes — songs about conspiracy theorists, UFO cover-ups, Recovery mindsets and mind fullness, and the strange business of being human. The band has drawn coverage from Tulsa World and News9, international press from outlets like Doomed Nation and Soundville, and radio play from college stations to Oklahoma City's KATT 100.5. Every GROUCHO record is written, recorded, and produced entirely in-house.
